SF IV Info:

-Producer is Yoshinori Ono, who worked on SF Alpha, SF III, and oversaw Capcom Fighting Revolution

-Ono wants it to be the ''second coming'' of SF II. Wants it to feel like ''homecoming'' for SF II fans.

-Online play is planned with potential for microtransactions such as new characters and stages

-The look is not really similiar to the teaser trailer. A ''cartoon-shaded ****that manages to evoke SF II reimagined in 3d''

- runs in 60FPS

- Gameplay sticking with 2D- Ono wants to ''preserve the strategic nature of SF II''

-camera doesn't budge

- Trying to get ''as many SFII characters in as possible''

- Takes place after SFII Turbo and before SF III

-Controls are traditional- ''in its current early state, the game feels remarkably close to Super SFII Turbo''

- Game is more aggressive- more about attacking than defending. Many of the SF III and Alpha gameplay systems have been scrapped.

- Producer says they haven't decided what platforms or even if there will be an arcade version. Version Shane played was running on a P.C

- Ono suggests Capcom could make a PS2 or DS version if ''they deem the market suitable''

-Ono not enthusiastic about making it an exclusive- wants to get it out on as many platforms as possible

WTH is with the AC 4.5 score, come on. I think too low with UC but I guess that is the average it will get, Nights scored higher than UC so thats a good sign for me.EGM January: SFIV info, Galaxy, Creed, Nights reviewed.
Woah, suprising AC score. They really were all over the place, Next gen Tecmo Bowl is awesome news, as well as Lego Batman.EGM January: SFIV info, Galaxy, Creed, Nights reviewed.
Wow... I know reviews are opinions, but you'd really have to have a personal vendetta against AC to give it a 4.5.
LEGO Batman will be GOTY in 2008. Playing as the villains? Too awesome for words.
I wonder if they will have a proper never seen before preview of FF13, or the same stuff we've already seen. I also hope their rumour about FF:CC being in trouble isn't true.
ouch. Sega screwed up N!ghts Now I really have to break up with Sega.
ouch. Sega screwed up N!ghts Now I really have to break up with Sega.
7's are bad? What did you expect from this game.
I'm happy to see that NiGHTS got good reviews, but I was hoping 8+. I'm concerned with those Assassin's Creed reviews because I still haven't decided whether or not I'm going to pick that game up.
Wow... As far as I could tell AC is a well made game, so its not a bad game. As a professional reviews you would think they can put aside their own personal hate, I can do it, i know when I don't like a game cause of my tastes, I am sure they can too.

Repetition isn't bad, as long as it's good repetition. A co-worker of mine played through the game and mentioned the repetition as an annoyance, but he says that Altair is such a badass that it offsets some of it.I don't know how I'll feel about the game -- won't until sometime after Christmas. But a 4.5 based on what I've heard from trusted sources seems way, way low.
And I still don't know how I feel about Rock Band getting 9's and 10's from places seeing as there have been massive problems with the hardware reliability and the game costs a hundred and seventy bucks. There is a thread on GAF where a ton of people are having issues with the guitar and some with the drums. I know this isn't an issue with the game itself, but since those components are part and parcel with actually playing the game, it should affect the score. That is assuming of course that the reviewers experienced any issues with their hardware.
4.5 for Assassins Creed? Im playing through it right now and its a pretty epic game... no matter how you scratch it the game is at least and 8.0 quality, it does have its problems but they are pretty minor overall.
Microtransactions, huh?As if I needed another reason to be skeptical of SFIV.

It was a hard game to review for me... the repetition really sets in later in the game, but like your friend said, Altair is such a badass that it is forgivable. The game is flawed, but it is no where near as busted as a '4.5'. In the end my love of the world they made and the backstory that is going on in the game overcame any frustrations I had with the gameplay. I still think that it has some of the tightest controls I've ever played... I seriously can't wait to see where they go with the sequel. Just about anything is possible.

Let's face it, if it was just up to the general playerbase, Street Fighter EX would've caught on...
What I've gathered from the 1UP show wasthat Crispin did not like Ass Creed AT ALL, it went beyond Donahoe's complaint about the game getting way too repetitive,he just couldn't find a good game there, and to be honest, one shouldn't NEED to FIND a good game, it should be obvious. I'm not sure how people with Ass Creed would enjoy some of the things like sitting on a bench listeningin on conversationsor the sidequests, it's one thing that people can have fun ''messing around'', it's another thing if people think that would make Ass Creed a good game without a strong core which was what two of the EGM reviewers had problems with. All the best games out this year have very strong core gameplay, even GTA games in the past have very strong gameplay in addition to all the emergent crap.

The eavesdropping missions last all of 10 or 15 seconds, I can't imagine getting frustrated sitting on a bench in a game for that long. I'll agree that the core game isn't as solid as the rest of the games I've beaten this year, but it isn't as bad as to call it busted.
I know how they feel about AC. Most of the gameplay consist of collecting flags which is just lazy. As far as I know you don't even a reward for it. Recycled missions such as save this citezen or the four other variants pickpocket, interrogate, sitting on a bench, and time missions. Which usually don't get you anything interesting aside from an extra health bar. These and a few unforgivable things like having to leave the retreat after every mission just make the game average to me.

I played Galaxy at my friends house and got sad because I sold my Wii after two months of owning one earlier this year. I probably won't able to get one till next year now. Nice to see it getting more good scores.
