The January/Feb timing for the PS3 version was better.
According to IGN the AI is quest mode is still a lacking (which wasn't the case with the VF4s). I traded in the PS3 version because I was unhappy with the AI, and Sega had promised to beef up the AI of the X360 version, but it sounds like it didn't happen. I'll pass. The AI is also highly suspect. Quest Mode, which is likely to absorb the majority of your time and attention, is fairly easy to conquer thanks to the weak AI. Even at the higher difficulties, you can get away with hit and run tactics to defeat opponents. Quest Mode becomes less about the challenge of becoming the greatest fighter around and more about collecting lots of items. Granted, the collection element is highly addictive, but it would have been nice to see greater strides taken in improving the AI over the PS3 version.http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/831/831623p1.html
Still posting 1UP reviews as if they actually mean something, eh dvader? :PVirtua Fighter 5, then...I don't know, even if I had a 360, I probably wouldn't get it now and by the time I do get one, I'm afraid I'll forget all about it. Will try to check it out someday.
Wait a minute 1up gave this a 10/10 but says it isn't perfect, i'm confused isn't 10/10 a perfect score
The demo didn't impress me just because of the 360's d-pad.  Though, I suppose if you are a big enough VF fan, you are probably playing it with an arcade stick.  I out of my element though since I am terrible at VF, and am more of a Tekken guy.

In fact they said a ten does not mean that a game is perfect in EGM the month after their triple-10 Twilight Princess review. I'm guessing a lot of people assumed it meant the game was perfect, and they felt the need to clarify.10s are obtainable scores, not ''perfect'' scores.

Stupid Gamestop! I went yesterday to pick up my copy and they didn't have it, even though they told me they would receive it on Tuesday. I can't go to the mall today because I have to do laundry. Damn you Gamestop and your stupidity.

I can only hope that this means we'll never have to hear about DOA again. :)
I'll be buying this as soon as I get rid of whatever bug crawled into my system and made a nest there. I'm sick as a dog today. Nice to see the game score well, and I applaud Sega's inclusion of online play. I really think the game is going to get hammered at retail, though. Fighters are not as prolific a genre as they once were, and VF5 is going up against some serious heavyweights by releasing right now.
Wait a minute 1up gave this a 10/10 but says it isn't perfect, i'm confused isn't 10/10 a perfect score
I remember reading that 1UP's review system isn't a traditional review system. Instead, they give a game a score out of 10 for recommendation, so a 10 would mean that it's highly recommended that you play this game.So is it basically the PS3 version of VF5 with an improved arcade mode, better balance, online play, a better training mode and (sighs) Achievements?

I'm not sure but I think theres some other stuff like downloadable ghosts and replays from other players. Although I'm not certain.
Woah that's pretty darn impressive.Dead or Alive and Tekken are still my top two personal favourite 3D fighting games but I likes me some Virtua Fighting and have no qualms about adding VF5 into my collection and giving it some playtime. I would have picked this up even if there was no online gameplay included but I'm ever so happy that they gave it a shot and threw it in. More bang for my buck is always welcome.
1up has always showed more favor towards VF so no surprise. Personally, I love the fighting but I hate some of the character designs except for maybe like two or three.Anyway, the game is not for everybody.
GS' review is up- 8.5http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/virtuafighter5/review.html?sid=6182119The online works fine apparently, good to hear unfortunately though predictable; you'd have to spend an extra $60 on a stick.

And there were no AA issues regarding the PS3 version, although it's interesting to note that the XB360 version supports 1080i and 1080p while the PS3 version supported only 720p.
Anybody who appreciates the genre plays VF because it is the absolute best representation of 3D fighting. And if you don't like the character designs, change them. The customizeable options are quite deep.
