Hey. Is there any Shenmue fans in here? It was out for the Sega Dreamcast like 5/6 years ago. Someone just made me remember it in another topic and now I'm like OMG!! I loved that game!I was wondering if anyone else liked the game and if there are still any true fans of the series left?I think we should get together and get Microsoft to bring a next-gen version out!!:DHaha heres the website for you that don't know the game...http://www.shenmue.com/eng/index_egn.htmlShenmue
It's only my favourite game of all time. Dont' hold your breath on a Shenmue 3 though.Shenmue
It's only my favourite game of all time. Dont' hold your breath on a Shenmue 3 though.
Waahayy. We should start a Shenmue Union :PI hope Shenmue III does come out in the future anyway but meanwhile I'm gonna hook up my Dreamcast and see if ebay has Shenmue I and II :P
I only played Shen Mue II on the xbox and I loved it. As for Shen Mue III I'm getting some confusing feedback: some people say they read somewhere it's gonna be on the 360, some say it won't see the day at all. We'll see.
I played Shenmue on the X-box it was fun..wouldnt jump for a sequel though...
Perhaps sega would actually make a dreamcast 2 someday, and we could get a shenmue 3? Then all the series could be on a dreamcast system. *Now I know shenmue 2 didn't come to dreamcast in america. But it did in europe and japan* I still think sega will make a new system sometime. Look at all the more 3rd party games there are this generation, compared to last. They had 3 ports, sega heroes %26 riders, outrun 2, virtua fighter 4, jsrf, sega gt, and not a whole lot else. This gen, we've gone from knights, vf5, sonic on ps3/360, sonic and the secret rings, mario and sonic at the olympic games *Which is a sega game for the newbs*, and thats just in 2 years of this generation.Though I've heard rumors that shenmue 3, would probably contain the entire series. Just google shenmue 3, and lots of rumors/reports say it. Did shenmue online even come out in china yet? It was planned to come out early last year, then last winter, but I don't believe it did on either. But look at the metal gear series. Metal gear 2 came out in 1990, but metal gear solid didn't come out until 1998. So it could be anytime before shenmue 2 comes out. Though, shenmue 2 came out in 2001, and that was 6 years ago.
I played the second one of the Xbox and quite enjoyed it, the ''realistic'' approach is quite refreshing even if you cannot interact with most things. It adds ''atmosphere.'' It has compelled me to search out a Dreamcast and a copy of the original. However, don't even consider a remake or sequel... unless you have a spare $100 million to fund it.
Hell yes. My favorite game on the Dreamcast, and probably my favorite game of all time. The game is actually infront of me right now sitting on top of a pile of movies.
I thought they were making Shenmue III but as an MMO, then I hear stuff like it got canceled or something. If you ever seen the trailer for it, you'll be glad it got canceled.
Setting the record straight right here.As of right now there is only Shenmue 1 and 2 and there are no plans to make Shenmue III, and Shenmue Online was Canceled. I am a HUGE fan of this series, in fact, it is my all time favorite game hands down. I've never played a game that shook me so deep to my core with its riviting story and visual beauty. I would do anything to have this series ended and have proper closure, but unfortunately it probably will never happen. The two Shenmue games were so costly to sega and neither sold nearly enough copies to break even at the least, that the prospects for a third game were virtually destroyed. So in financial terms, this game was a flop. Unless Sega sells the rights to Shenmue to another developer or Sega finds a cheaper way to produce a third title that won't compromise them financially so much, I wouldn't count on another Shenmue game ever being made.If you want, there is an online petition for Sega to release shenmue III that you can sign. Last time I checked(about a month ago) it had around 45,000 people on it. My name is among these, as I said, I would do anything to see the third and final instalment in this perfect game series. The best site to find out new stuff on shenmue is called the Shenmue Dojo. They also have a lot of other awesome shenmue stuff on there.

The wii can handle dreamcast graphics. The wii also has the cheapest development kit ever since the ps1 days. So I don't think it would kill sega to do another shenmue on the wii.

I think the game was planned after all if they made that awesome teaser. Perhaps it was cancelled later.

Thats a shenmue online trailer, that featured shenmue 2 characters to show off some of the crazy new sci-fi stuff thats in shenmue online, but someone used a video editor program to put all the shenmue 3 text and such in there. As of now, shenmue 3 hasn't been announced.

But if you search around on youtube and watch actual shenmue online trailers, you'll find out that video wasn't shenmue 3.

It can be disappointing when you find out that that you've been YouFooled by some dude with windows movie maker, but that's part of freedom of expression, which is what makes YouTube great after all.
Don磘 remember me...I磎 still angry about the 2nds Ending and the Video of the Saturn-Version which was a lot further
Don磘 remember me...I磎 still angry about the 2nds Ending and the Video of the Saturn-Version which was a lot further
I'm a huge fan of the series: I loved the game for its immersion, I loved working at the lucky hit to make money, I loved having to report to bed each night, I loved how they approached learning the fighting system, I loved the fighting system itself, I loved fighting guys in the arena,I loved the soundtrack, I loved all of the characters, I loved the adventure of finding and tracking down leads, I loved all of the fan service especially the Sega arcades in both games complete with games of instant nostalgia, I loved the stealth mission in the first one, I loved the quick-press button sequences (before they became overdone), but I hated the ending of SHenmue II. After that breathtaking hike to find the killer I wanted to have a showdown with him even if I couldn't actually finish him off.
As a fan of the series for the past 7 years. Let me give you would experienced wisdom on this matter. This idea has been done to death, its very unlikely to ever happen. And even if it somehow did, I highly doubt it'd be Yu Suzuki who'd do it. The series will NEVER be completed as Yu Suzuki originally planned. So just give up. Really, give up.
