Upsides: The game is fast, there are a good range of game types, one can opt for a keyboard and mouse (and play Sixaxis only matches), there are dedicated servers (which means that the host doesn't have a speed advantage) and the audiovisuals are impressive.Downsides: The pacing of the game is slower than its PC counterpart (so PS3/PC interplayability will never happen), there is a bit of slowdown in larger maps and mods aren't usuable out of the gate (an update is coming). The campaign mode is pretty much training wheels for online play.I am going to pass due to the lack of a true campaign mode (online, Warhawk is my poison of choice and I don't see myself juggling two online shooters at once). http://ps3.ign.com/articles/841/841413p1.htmlIGN Review of Unreal Tournament PS3 is up
I'm on the fence with this one. If it turns out that the mod support for it is solid I will get it for sure.IGN Review of Unreal Tournament PS3 is up
I'm probably gonna pass because of the lack of a campaign as well, but I'm sure its a very solid game for what it is. I kind of feel like these multiplayer-only shooters have become a bit out of date. Back in the day, Unreal and Quake 3 were the top dogs at what they did, but now we have a trillion great multi-player shooters that also happen to have just as great of a SP campaign. Spending $60 for essentially half a game just doesn't make a ton of sense to me anymore.Warhawk was more worthy to me, because it was at least different from any other game out there. And also not full price.
Well, it turned out decent. I would get the PC version anyway, but if you don't have the option, at least you won't be totally left out. I wonder why they don't continue what they did with Unreal Championship 2 on consoles though, that game was awesome and offered something different from the PC Unreals.

I wonder how much the game is slowed down from the PC version. I'm probably gonna pick up the 360 version (no way my PC can run it at max settings and all of my friends play on live) and I really hope that it isn't slowed down to the point where it no longer feels like UT.
I would definitely get this but got COD4 and Warhawk. Its a shame too, cause me and UT go back a long ways , good times..
Hopefully later in 08 during the drought I will grab it.
I actually never really cared for the campaign mode and I didn't realize people really did. I've always looked at Unreal Tournament as an online competition game at its soul. I dunno, and maybe you guys can inform me on this.As of now, I'd rather have the 360 version and i'd wait for it, but I don't know if mod content will be available for it. Will there? That will be the deciding factor between purchasing either the PS3 or Xbox 360 version.

I just got a brand new computer and I don't know whether to get this for the PC now...or wait for the 360 version which a couple friends will also get.
If it has a healthy community than I'm sure it will be worth picking up. My only praise for it is its forgiving requirements for lower-powered PCs. A lot of people who don't have Crysis playing rigs can dive into UT.
I don't know if I'll play it...I don't have online, so I'm all about the campaign.

Due to not having enough time these days as of late and my backlog from this holiday accumulating, I'll wait for the 360 version if some of my friends get it or PC (though it depends on the 360's release date). I don't feel like shelling out extra cash for a keyboard mouse for the PS3 when I could save that money for MGS4 instead.
It seems like there's been a half dozen high quality shooters that have come out in the past few months, so what does Unreal Tournament III really do to distinguish itself?

In the past, UT campaigns are just deathmatches with a story and significance to them.
